BREEAM and Water Conserving Design

Description

This CPD looks at the issues around water conservation in buildings. The presentation begins with an overview of the natural water lifecycle before looking at a holistic view of designing water management systems and key ways of reducing water usage. It then moves into standards and regulations and BREEAM, before finishing with a section on grey and rain water recycling. By the end of the session you should have a greater understanding of:

- How to effectively specify low water usage products and management systems in buildings

- The macro issues around water conservation

- The impact that building design and product choice can have on water usage

- BREEAM processes and procedures

- The BREEAM water section requirements and how to achieve the most credits
