This seminar will enable delegates to appreciate the importance of colour and luminance contrast in designing inclusive environments; equipping them to use colour and contrast to design interiors that will simplify navigation for all users, but especially for those with visual impairments. It explores research that impacted Approved Document part M2 and the impact of other environmental factors such as lighting and surface finish. By the end of the CPD you should have a greater understanding of: - How people with a visual Impairments navigate a space with residual vision - Importance of visual contrast and identifying critical surfaces - Guidelines on contrast in Building regulation Approved document part M - How to identify the Light Reflectance Values of surfaces - How to select colours to create adequate contrast as laid out in the guidelines.
