Corrosion Resistance: Advanced Coated Steel in Harsh Environments

cpd

Description

At the end of this presentation, you should be able to:
1. Identify the characteristics of zinc-aluminium-magnesium (Type ZM) coated cold-formed steel as defined in AS 1397:2021.
2. Distinguish between ZM350 and standard Z275 coatings.
3. Classify corrosivity environments (C1-C5) based on AS/NZS 2312.2:2014 and understand how these conditions impact coating performance and durability.
4. Understand the anti-corrosion mechanism of ZM350.
5. Describe how ZM coatings protect steel and the impact on durability.
6. Recommend appropriate coating types (Z275 vs ZM350) based on intended use, durability requirements, and warranties.
