To introduce architects to the benefits of understanding patient / resident mobility along with implementing a basic 8 step principle to ensure that the environment, equipment and care skills are vital components when considering showering or bathing patients or residents. Providing examples of typical issues and concerns from the caregiver, resident and facility while also considering the correct type of equipment to select for the resident's dignity, engagement and wellbeing. By the end of the CPD you should have a greater understanding of: - Mobility assessment tools - The amount of space required when designing bedrooms and hygiene rooms - The importance of space equipment and care skills
