This CPD presentation looks at fire safety legislation and guidance that impacts the specification of architectural ironmongery. It also covers legislation and guidance that is relevant post-handover, with a focus on risks to consider in respect of fire doors and the correct specification of ironmongery. By the end of this CPD you should have a greater understanding of: - The definition of fire safety in addition to some historical context - Legislation applicable to the ironmongery industry which relates to pre-handover ie during planning, construction and sign off - Legislation applicable to the ironmongery industry which relates to post-handover of a building - Risks to consider in respect of fire doors and the correct specification of ironmongery as well as potential consequences of ignoring these risks - Examples of differences to regulatory regimes which were caused by specific occurrences and fires
