Screed - Specifying to Avoid Failures

The CPD provides guidelines on the requirements and procedures to ensure that a screed is intalled in such a way as to minimise the risk of and failure of the screed. Although general in this and including guidence on site and installation procedures, particular emphasis is given to those aspects that should be considered at specification stage. By the end of this seminar delegates should have: 1. An understanding of the aspects governing choise of screed material. 2. Knowledge of the capabilities of the main types of screed available. 3. An understanding what can cause failures of floor screeds or of soft flooring. 4. An understanding how screeds dry and how to ascertain moisture content. 5. A clearer view of the decision making options when specifying screeds.
