Specifying Playground Safety Surfacing

Face to Face Seminar
Design, construction and technology, Health, safety and wellbeing

Description

This seminar is designed to offer a comprehensive overview of the different types of play safety surfacing. Participants will gain valuable insights into the standards and requirements essential for safety surfacing in playgrounds. It will guide attendees in selecting the most appropriate safety surface, focusing on options such as wet-pour, artificial grass, and rubber mulch. It will also cover the specification and installation of play safety surfacing. By the end of this CPD, delegates ought to be able to: 1. Understand the difference between Wetpour, Rubber Mulch and Artificial Grass, and how they are installed. 2. Use skills learnt to select the most appropriate safety surface for playgrounds. 3. Use techniques shown to avoid common issues like shrinkage, UV colour changes, and surface undulations, ensuring the durability and aesthetics of the playground surfaces. 4. Understand how design and efficient layout can lead to significant cost savings while maintaining safety and quality. 5. Identify and apply Playground Safety Surfacing Standards to ensure compliance and safety in playground design and maintenance.
