Description

This CPD will help specifiers understand how texture can be used to enhance building aesthetics when designing with clay bricks. It will provide an introduction to well known example projects, the main brick types available, the relevant bonding patterns & technical considerations, and an overview of the texture effects that can be achieved when specifying and designing brick facades. This material aims to increase understanding of: - Where clay bricks come from and how they are made - The anatomy of a brick and the different brick types - Using well known architectural projects to provide design inspiration - The commonly used bonding patterns used to achieve textured facades - The basics of movement in brickwork and other key technical considerations.
