At the end of this presentation, you should be able to:
1. Understand the importance of accessible design, including legal requirements, social benefits, and why accessibility matters for all building users.
2. Identify and understand the types of ramps, including threshold, step, kerb, and long ramps, and determine when to use each one.
3. Learn relevant standards and compliance requirements including AS 1428.1:2021 and AS 1428.4.1:2021 for gradients, dimensions and materials.
4. Apply compliant design principles that meet Australian accessibility standards.
