Description

This seminar explores how contract fabrics might be made more sustainable through the replacement or removal of certain added chemicals. Alternatives to high-volume commercially produced fabric are explored. Future directions are appraised - especially those based on naturally occurring phenomena. New innovations in fabric production are also identified and explored. By the end of the CPD you will have a greater understanding of: - What is meant by added chemistry and what possible substitutes are available. - What makes a contract fabric - How to distinguish between harmful and beneficial added chemistry - What fabrics are best from a sustainable viewpoint - Future directions in biomimicry and fabric design
