Nearly 1 in 5 working adults (that is potential consumers) have a disability, and surveys show that 3 in 4 disabled people and their families have walked away from a UK business, citing poor accessibility and/ or poor service. This CPD looks at how platform and retracting stair lifts can provide access to all types of private and commercial buildings, including Grade I listed. This CPD aims to cover: 1. The requirements of the Equality Act. 2. The relevant Building Regulations & the Hierarchy of Accessibility. 3. British Standards and Approved Documents with which access lifts must comply. 4. Relevant Fire Regulations regarding Access Lifts. 5. nclusivity and Heritage Buildings & the impact of the Purple Pound. By the end of this CPD delegates ought to have: 1. Enhanced knowledge of access requirements & solutions. 2. Greater confidence in the specification of platform and retracting stair lifts to overcome accessibilty issues. 3. Enhanced knowledge of the impact of the Purple Pound and importance of accessibility to the economy. 4. An understanding of the impact that disabled influencers have on accessibility. 5.
